Social Enterprise Summit 2014 Viļņā

„Making good deeds profitable“

The objective of the summit is to bring key stakeholders together to discuss and agree a way forward for the development of social enterprises in Lithuania and – more broadly – the social economy. The summit will include representatives from social enterprises, national government ministries, municipal government, nongovernmental organisations (NGOs), foundations, associations, and any business or organisation with an interest in or is working towards ‘public good’.

Who Should Attend?
The summit organisers will invite 100-120 attendees that have experience and can contribute to the discussions on the 4 themes outlined below.
Attendees will include leaders and senior managers from social enterprises and NGOs, foundations and associations, social entrepreneurs, local and national government advisors, senior officers and policy makers, intermediaries, funders and investors and private sector and corporations with an interest in social enterprise. The summit will also invite key contributors from the UK and the Baltic region with direct experience of the
themes below.

Themes and Structure
The 4 summit themes are listed below – these will be discussed and debated in a workshop session with 20-25 participants. Each session will have a chairman or chairwoman and a facilitator / note taker and the discussion will be summarised by the chairperson and fed back into the afternoon plenary.

Summit Themes
1. The role of government in supporting the social economy
2. Support for the social economy
3. Awareness raising
4. Fostering co-operation between and within the public, private, corporate and social economy

Below is the summit programme that includes the morning and afternoon plenary sessions and refreshment breaks. There will be welcome introductions in the morning and then the 4 main speakers will present to the summit audience their experiences, thoughts and recommendations.

There will be simultaneous translation during the plenary and the workshops will be conducted in English and Lithuanian.
